John made this gate at the side of the house when the children were little. when Thomas was five we had to put chicken wire on it to stop him climbing over , he is 39 this year. it has has many repairs and bits added. but now it time has come to be replaced, John has enjoyed the smallish job of making a new one. picture when done
Always loved photography, joined this for me and to improve my skills.
Finished working with children a couple of years ago. so more time
farmers daughter....
By making it yourself you not only get exactly what you want but also of good quality. I bet if you'd bought it from one of the well known diy stores it would have had to be replaced every few years. Glad John is recovering enough to do this 😊

Yes.he as enjoyed doing this project.had the wood before he had operation and had be put on hold.he was putting the wood varnish on last night..we were laughinglast night.can still see the staples in where the chicken wire went.the new one will not be the same..but new stories with the grankids.i wonder how many thousands of time that old gate had been opened, shut and fastened!
You've worn a gate out! So glad John is up to making & replacing this gate! Happy memories, you won't want to throw this one away! Perhaps it's recycled!
