Shutters

It's amazing the beauty that you see in some man made objects. Everyday things that you see whilst walking to drop your son off to school. The way that you see things in a different light when you're looking for things to shoot.

It's a wet miserable day in London. There's a tube strike so I'm working from home today. It's a good thing for me though. It's cosy at home, fairly warm (although I don't turn the heating on when it's me at home by myself) and it means that I can walk around barefoot, get a snack when I want to, put some music on and make a few private phone calls when the need arises.

In case you weren't sure what this photo is - it's shop/garage shutters. The shallow depth of field gives it an almost blurred moving effect.

I'm also loving this monochrome thing that I've had going on for the last three images. I don't generally work in black and white but I can see me doing a lot more of this. Especially when it's such a grey day.
I love the lighting and abstractness of this.

I'm glad you got to work from home and didn't get caught in the strike - it looked awful!
