while in Remscheid we visited the only living aunt (going on 90) of Hans's and his brothers and his sister who stays in contact with the aunt quite frequently. so we were all invited for coffee and cake and i was thrilled to see all her gorgeous china which was on display in various places all hand painted by her. furthermore this lady used to be a famous dancer here in Germany and she had oddles of pictures on display as well. we had a real nice time visiting and reminizing. for me it was especially interest as i learned a lot more of the olden days when my husband still lived at home. quite in all a very nice afternoon.
Ooh, beautiful! It's great that you got a chance to visit his aunt while you were there. It must have been so interesting to get to learn more of your husband's history and his family's history.
This is great. My grandma used to have one of these when I was a kid and we were fascinated for hours looking through the glass and trying to see everything there was to see.
