A large drugstore chain is building a new home right next door (empty lot) to the existing one. I think to compete with the upcoming Wal-Mart Super Centre (which features a drug store) our little town is growing so fast.road widening and an access to a new extention of a highway (to be finished in 2012) . my husband said many years ago already that we should move when theyput the first traffic light in but we stayed put. I couldn't leave my home that Hans built to my specifications. (I should rather say Hans my husband designed it and Bruce my son built it).
It certainly has lines!! growth is inevitable and its harder and harder to find somewhere untouched. Love to see some photos of your 'made to measure' house sometime.
You certainly got all the lines you could want in this picture! And I certainly understand how wonderful it must be to live in a home designed by your husband and built by your son! That's quite a gift! (TJ, the cat, is going to have to wait for his own account. I think he's pulling for top billing where I write, "Louise & Ken"...I should perhaps add, "& TJ"!
You certainly fulfilled the theme today. It's interesting how stealthily commerce takes over a neighborhood til you can't remember what things used to look like before the construction of the superstore or the interstate or the office complex.
Love the lines here!
Soap dispenser - gives only one small quantity of soap each time you put your hand under it. For the photograph I did it twice to increase the volume and to get the soap actually coming out of nozzle. It is quite a new gadget here - great fun and designed so you don't get germs on it unlike the push pump model in the other picture which needs two hands to use properly.
Yes, difficult to stop progress...but "progress" has different meanings to different people!
RE: your comment on my page..I'd like to see the pics from Mexico that you mentioned! oh and the only editing for the shopping carts was cropping, used a faded poster effect in Picnik and a frame...the smaller sized carts are blue at Food Lion ;-) Hopefully, I can find something a little more interesting today!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bruni---------I usually just "make it up as I go" for the recipe, but I will put together a list of basics that I use and estimates of amounts. You can be fairly relaxed about it and use your taste as a guide. I will often use organic chicken broth and add organic chicken for a variation. It sounds like you need to leave that out for your husband's sake though. I do use organic ingredients as much as possible-------I think it really makes a difference in the flavor!
A sigh of the times Bruni - not always a good thing but can we go back again to the simpler times??
Re my picture; I did see the heart when he drew it LOL I knew it was still there -don't wash the windows often - ok ever- in the greenhouse - It will all be scrubbed down once I pick the last tomato though & the heart will disappear in a bubble of soapsuds ;)
@Rainee. my above comment is incorrect. the construction picture is of a new Shoppers Drugmart. but yes, we re getting a Wal-Mart Store here in Keswick..right on Woodbine Ave. and Ravenshoe Side Road. it is almost finished.
Sorry about the growth......
thank you for your "vote" on the humor theme. much appreciated. =;o)
