Not sure if I posted this mural before in my 5 years of being on 365. it's on the south/east corner of Wellington and Yonge Street in Aurora.
I always look at it when I come to a red traffic light at that corner.
@skstein Sandy, first of all I should mention that this picture is only part of the mural. unfortunately the location for this mural wasn't chosen to it's best advantage. it's on a very busy corner of town. the traffic on both these streets is stop and go all of the time. I took it from inside my car at a traffic light. if I would stand across the street to take this picture, there would be too many cars either coming and going on both sides of the street or stopping at the red light at the corner of it and block my view.. I missed the top of the building where it reads OH CANADA and you see the Canadian Flag. As to the pictures: it highlights numerous famous and influential Canadians, Politicians, Artists, Inventors and Astronauts. for instance, there is The Group of Seven - famous painters. one picture of the Repatriating of the Constitution, 1982 (Prime Minister Trudeau and the Queen of England) as well as a picture of Canadians in Space. @kerristephens@demelo@carolmw@mbemis@thresheg@gigiflower@cejaanderson@joemuli
I like to thank each and everyone of you for your nice comment to the mural and thought you might like some information. Sandy asked me
if there is a story to go with it.
@digitalrn thank you Rick. I'll've to make a point of trying to get the whole mural in a picture. for that it has to be summer as I might have to stand on the other side of the road and there is so much traffic on that corner. did you get a chance to read my comment with the information I sent to Sandy?
Great mural, Bruni and you captured it so well! It depicts a lot of history. Still working on replying to your email. Back is so bad I took two separate pain meds today. Going to try and get through a few more pics and then go on heat.
