We came across a turtle hatchery and had a quick look, but there was nothing much to see. so we made sure to walk pass it at least once a day.
this time, as you can see, we at least saw some activity there. when speaking to this fellow we found out he was cleaning the nests of empty egg shells and get them ready for the next batch. unfortunately we never got to see eggs or baby turtles; not like when we were in Acapulco a few years ago where we found a batch of eggs. we thought we saw a tennis ball and went up to it and figured it looked more like an egg, so we duck around it and found a whole bunch of turtle eggs. after covering them up again, we went to report the find to the authority. we explained whereabouts they would find them and later when we checked back we saw that they had been removed.

Wow. What a great thing to do. This gives the turtles safe places for their eggs, right? That way they are safe from being snatched up by other critters. It's nice that people work with the wildlife like this. Nice shot, Bruni.
