The cardinal is back.

This is the first year that we didn't feed the birds during the summer month, but as soon as all the feeders are filled up again, it has spread around the bird population that there is food to be had and slowly they're all returning. of course the sparrow hung around the tree anyway.

Wish they where around here. Love there singing Once we did have one for years in a aviary. He escape but did return after a few days . His end was very sad. He was killed by a Mauswiesel (Mustela nivalis), that get in by night.

Handsome fellow! I'm always glad to see them return after the feeder has been inside while we're gone (otherwise we'd be feeding the deer and not the birds!).
