Our first outing since I joined up with my hubby besides going grocery shopping was a trip to the above mentioned Wildlife Preserve. One of my follower/friends @photographycrazy has posted a lot of beautiful pictures from this preserve.
The Apopka Wildlife Drive is a one-way 11-mile drive in the Orange County in Florida. it's only open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and of course on Federal Holidays. I'm quoting from a brochure: "The list of birds found here continues to grow, with 362 species seen on the property. they include Anhinga, Bald Eagle, Black Vulture, Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Green Heron, Osprey, Red-shouldered Hawk, Red-Winged Blackbird, Swallow-tailed Kite, Tricolored Heron, Turkey Vulture and White Ibis. Other wildlife found here include alligator, turtles, bobcat, otter, raccoon, snakes and coyote. we didn't see any of the last ones mentioned. I would like to take another drive through, if out remaining time allows. there's so much to see and to do here.
Nice shot. This sounds like a wonderful area
