Lilac does know if it's coming or going

Couldn't resist taking a picture today, November 30th. we've 38 degrees Fahrenheit and our lilac doesn't know if it's coming or going, see the new grows.

I've seen the trees do that too- but then they seem to go to sleep for the winter when the really cold weather sets in. Good catch!
