Blustery Day by bruni

Blustery Day

It was 2 pm in the afternoon when we were on our way home from shopping. Costco is located in our neighbouring town of Newmarket. we usually go and return the fasted way by taking the 404 highway. well, not this day. It was blowing snow and you couldn't see too far ahead.
the road we took used to be a concessions road, they made it now into a four lane road, all in preparation for future subdivisions.
It is a nice drive all the way up to Keswick.
Wow, that looks treacherous. Good capture. Glad you got home safely.

Not a nice day to be out on the road. You have captured the dramatic atmosphere impeccably well.

How on earth do you manage to drive in that? It looks dreadful weather!

Same weather we have had for 2 weeks. We just may get a break today. Love your shot. Shows the stormy weather so well.

New Mexicans would be slipping and sliding all over a road like that! A demolition derby.

@janeandcharlie This was easy driving. of course we change our summer tires to winter tires just before the snow flies. we just didn't want to go on a busy highway in that weather condition. driving into Newmarket, we usually take the highway. we make it then in 10 minutes while the long way takes up to 30 minutes, but going back home we have all the time in the world and take the slow road (to China so to speak). thank your for your comment, Jane.

@leananiemand Very cautiously. we do have snow tires on our cars in the winter and one doesn't have to use the Highway on a day like that. the road we chose is not used much as their are hardly any houses along the way.
it was under construction for more than two years. they had to move a narrow bridge and built a new one for a 4 lane road, first widen the road and all this for future development. sofar their is one new subdivision and in not long a time, there will be so many more. thank you for your comment and I wish you safe travels in 2018.

Oh my! I'm glad you got home safrly. Beautiful phito.

@allie912 On this road, which is hardly traveled as there are just fields on both sides. the odd house further up towards Keswick. you see all the construction that went on for 2 years was in preparation for land development. Toronto is creeping up closer and closer. so many new subdivisions going up all the time. Thank you for all your comments, I do appreciate each and every one of them..
