For the last 3 days we waited for the promised rain, oh well, you can't believe the weatherman. heavy rain and thundershowers were in the forecast, but it never happened here in our town. Toronto might've gotten a few sprinkles here and there, but not us.
Around 11 am it got really dark towards the lake and the wind was blowing something awful. I had just decided to go for a walk around the block. three housea from ours towards the lakeI had to turn around and I just made into our driveway when the first drops hit the ground and from thereon, it was coming down like cats and dogs...it lasted 2 1/2 hours and I had watered all our potted plants and the 2 gardens early this morning.
Then on top of all that, I receive a call from my husband. the ferry they were on, coming back from the island where he and his partner work at the moment, got struck by lightning and part of the electrical system was damaged. what now, well a water taxis brought some passengers to the mainland. good thing they left the truck behind at the job site and as a passenger, they got picked up by the water taxi. now they needed a ride home. I, of course, jumped into our SUV as soon as he called me and drove there, but neither Hans or Steve were anywhere in sight. I should've known. they killed time over a beer. I joined them for a glass of water ( I'm not a beer drinker ). sofar so good.
Quiet a story. Gladly it gets well at the end.
Do n`t trust rainshowers for watering you pot flowers. Most of it is falling beside them. And the leaves of the plants are n`t a great help too.
@gijsje You're right Bep..thank your for ready my long narrative. @maggiemae .oh no, Maggiemae, I forgot, but I didn't have to wait too long before they saw. thanks for asking and your comment. @allie912 Allison, I agree. it's easier when they've something concrete to report. I smiled when I read your reply. thanks so much. @pyrrhula Ferry agree with you, I always check soil in my flower pots. to make sure.
