I saw something flying back and forth in and around the purple flowers but my eye couldn't make out what it was. I took the picture from our kitchen window.
after uploading I realized it was a hummingbird. my first one.
nice catch! we don't have humming birds over here, but we do have a sort of moth that is visiting a specific flower that only opens at night. And that moth has a long trunk and flies back and forth, just like a hummingbird.
