A couple of friends came calling quite unexpectedly and when they pulled into our driveway, we didn't recognize the car. it came roaring in and we thought who the heck are those people, maybe they're just turning around. once they got out of the car, we recognized them. we started talking about this cold model car and that Tom bought it quite reasonable and is in the process of fixing it up to restore it to it's original beauty. they didn't mention what kind it is and Hans and I don't know much about old cars, but never asked either, so we still don't know. I took this picture after they had left but came back as Diane forgot her purse. snapped the picture while she was getting back into the vehicle.

Birds I can identify, but not cars. I'll ask my son who is quite a car buff. Or someone else may give you an ID before then. At any rate, it's a really neat old car and a fun snapshot.
@snoopybooboo I think you're right Tony. I learned how to drive on an old chevy and it looked a lot like this one. now that was in 1955. too bad a haven't a picture of it.
I had a quick google and it looks very similar to pics of the Chevrolet Fleetline from the 1950's. Beautiful old car and it would be great to see a before and after pic once it's fixed up!
you're right it belongs to the fleetline. I googled it now and saw the picures. thank you Paula. I even think I drove one in 1955. at my age you become forgetful.
