Apr 14: Garden

My eldest son brought me this piece of oak tree back from his recent trip to Scotlandshire. It is from his Granddad's garden and now it is in mine.
I have know idea how I am going to mount that on the lathe?

We have a friend who mounted a rod into the center of a piece like this, and clamped it onto a large tractor where the rear wheel goes. (I think the piece he had was only about 10 inches thick, though!) He used a chain saw to rough it into a circle before he mounted it. I DO NOT recommend this method, it was QUITE the hill-billy kludge.

Thanks everyone it is actually over 2ft across and just under 2ft deep.
I may have to get a tractor then Marci.
