It seems sad to think that we may no longer see these iconic red boxes on our streets and in our villages any more. The people in the village of Duloe have been very creative with their old telephone box. It is being used to house second hand books and magazines. The sign inside asks you to help yourself to a book and leave one of yours behind for someone else to enjoy.
What a great idea....one of our local ones has a container potted up with plants, I suppose they get shelter and light, so quite a good idea. another one is usually decorated with theme of the time, royal weddings, xmas, festival week etc etc nice to see them being looked after. Actually just thought the one in Haddenham has a tailors dummy in (without clothes) so it does make you take a second look when you go past it!!
