I've been to the funeral of a dear friend today, and feel as if I've lost my Mum. I've lived next to her daughter for years so have got to know Rene over the years. She came to live here just 18 months ago and has been our regular dog-sitter when we've been away. She hasn't been well for quite a while but was always cheerful. I learned today that the daisy was her favourite flower and this was the only one I could find in my garden. I don't know it's name but it doesn't matter - it's the thought that counts. We shall miss her.
Judith we both posted golden petals at the same time ..snap lovely shot & my petals can be for your friend today , sorry about your loss of a good friend, sad times...
(& the fluid is chilli oil , a slightly old chilli oil that has been sat in the sunshine on our kitchen window sill too long it turned golden from a red colour )
LOVELY photo................and then I saw what you had written.
So sad when we lose friends that have meant a lot over the years.
Life is all the richer for knowing them and I think we just have to pass on the joy they gave us with others who come our way.
It will be lovely for her daughter that you are next door!
A lovely tribute to your friend,Judith. Hard to lose these people who become part of the fabric of our lives and always good to have some kind of permanent memorial. Every year you see this flower, you will remember Rene...
