Historic church of St Kyneburgha's, Castor

We have been visiting some of the buildings open to the public for the Heritage open weekend today. This church was rebuilt by the Normans and dedicated in 1124. It has been a site of Christian worship since the 4th century, and is listed among the 100 best churches in the country. It is certainly a very beautiful church and has a splendid 'angel' roof. It was named after St Kyneburgha who founded a convent here. More details here. http://www.robschurches.moonfruit.com/#/castor-exterior/4519818292
Castor is west of Peterborough, and after visiting there we went to Crowland Abbey and March station. No doubt more pictures will appear later in the week!
I have never heard of that saint & it sounds a very old name. Love the St Georges flag flying there to give a bit of colour & a magnificent steeple.
