We went to London to take our Granddaughter and family to see Matilda the musical. An excellent performance with some very talented children. Before the show we had coffee in Neal's Yard. According to Wikipedia this area is 'a small alley in Covent Garden which opens into a courtyard. It is named after Thomas Neale and contains several Health Food cafes and New Age retailers including Neal's Yard Remedies, Neal's Yard Diary and the Wild Food Cafe.' The dairy sells a magnificent selection of cheeses but be prepared for high prices!
So interested to see this place Judith....have often wondered what Neals Yard looks like!
When we milked cows the milk from our cows was used to make cheese that was sold here. Butlers Blacksticks Blue. Several cheese makers we know well sell there cheese here the most famous being Ruth who is Mrs Kirkhams Farmhouse Cheese.
Very interesting building. I went there years ago and recall how I felt about it but didn't see it in such detail. I hope the grand-daughter enjoyed Matilda; I took my son when we visited the Paralympics and we both loved it.
Fantastic architecture shot.
I saw Matilda earlier this year, its now one of my favourite musicals..... also went to Neals Yard but after the show & it was dark, didn't realise how colourful it was.
I'd love to see Matilda....such cleverly written story!
