We visited this commercial skyscraper at the weekend during our day out in London. The sky garden on the 34th floor is open to the public and is free but you have to book up first and take photo ID. During it's construction parts of the building acted as a concave mirror and scorched a car parked below. The owner was awarded with £946 worth of damages! Following the event the building was dubbed the 'Walkie Scorchie' or the 'Fryscraper.' I wouldn't rush to see the garden as it left me a little underwhelmed. Thanks for all your kind wishes on our anniversary , and for getting us on the TP! What a lovely surprise.
I don't usually like building refractions, but they work really well in this photo. The juxtaposition of the different styles, and the feeling of height are great. Fav.
@rosiekind It's at 20 Fenchurch Street not far from the Shard. You have to book up first if you want to go up to see the gardens. Just Google the Sky Garden or the Walkie Talkie. We also went to the roof garden at the new Cross Rail station at Canary Wharf which was well worth a look.
