We had a busy week last week with our granddaughter to stay for three days, our regular date with Henry on Wednesday and Friday and some friends to stay for two days mid-week. On Thursday we went to Ely and came across these presenters from Radio Cambridgeshire having a bit of fun on the river. One was dressed up as Elvis and did a bit of impromptu singing , one was Elton John and the other was a cricketer. They ran a mini race using these bicycle-pedalos.. Can't remember what they called them - perhaps someone out there knows?
This appeals to me living where I live. The original Tom Fool lived at Muncaster Castle (a mile away as the crow flies). He would sit under a large Chestnut Tree, hundreds of years old, and direct people over my estuary, with its treacherous tides, based on whether he liked them or not.
This looks fun & I can tell who is who! I never knew that about Tom Fool either even though I'm not too far from South Cumbria.......amazing coincidence for @motherjane to be able to tell you that story!
I have never thought about those words too and now google is so good at explaining things! Super shot of these guys having fun and getting dressed up as long as they don't fool around too much an fall in!
