We took the cable car and mini bus to 2,900 metres and then took a short walk to see some of the recent craters. We decided against the two hour walk to the top where it was just 8 degrees, as we didn't really think our knees would handle the climb! At this point it was sunny and quite warm and the views of the summit were incredible. This is not the summit where we could see gas escaping all the time but I liked the red colour caused by the iron in the rock.
