Inside and out

We had a tour of Robinson College gardens in Cambridge this afternoon. It was opened in 1981 so is the newest of the Cambridge colleges. Built with a very generous donation from Sir David Robinson of £17 million. It is the only one of the Cambridge colleges which allows students on the grass! The college chapel has a rather splendid window designed by John Piper who also designed the windows in Coventry Cathedral after it was demolished during the second world war. I found the window difficult to photograph as the light streamed in through the yellow section of glass and I didn't know how to compensate for that. If you have any suggestions for dealing with that problem, please let me know. Many thanks for all your fav's on yesterday's picture which got me on to the PP!
What a great looking building.

Beautiful window. You probably need to make a note of the time of day and go back again when the sun has moved around.

I would imagine it's a big contrast to the other Cambridge colleges. A lovely looking chapel.

A super capture. Emmanuel spent three days at Robinson College on the Cambridge shadowing scheme, four years ago.
