'Sans Pareil' by busylady

'Sans Pareil'

This is a replica of the original steam locomotive built by Timothy Hackworth. Both this model and the original is on display at the National Railway Museum at Shildon which we visited at the weekend. Built for the Rainhill Trials in 1829 it performed well but not as well as the famous 'Rocket' built by Stephenson, which won the competition. Sans Pareil means 'without equal'
Lovely capture.
