Lyddington Bede House by busylady

Lyddington Bede House

Originally a medieval palace, this building was later converted into an almshouse for twelve poor bedesmen and two women. It was used as an almshouse until the 1930's. The rooms have been recreated as they would have been in Victorian times, and the building beautifully preserved by the English Heritage.
What a treasure ! - we are so lucky to have the EH and NT to preserve this places of historic interest for us !

That looks fascinating. No doubt it took many years to build but how it has lasted!
I wonder what will remain of modern constructions in a few decades .....!!

Super collage with great shots. I found this place really interesting when we visited last year, but also felt like it was haunted..... can't explain why !
