Schengen

We had a short emotional stop at Schengen on the way to Alsace. Emotional because all the countries belonging to the Schengen agreement are shown here in various ways. Each country has a star on one of the pillars and also a separate place for people to hang their locks. The former Schengen Chateau is also pictured. Sadly, Britain will soon no longer be a part of Europe.

Interesting - UK never did join Schengen, but those outside the EU, like Norway and Switzerland did. Gets confusing doesn't it!!
