Scotney old castle by busylady

Scotney old castle

This picturesque castle in Kent was built in 1378 but was partly demolished by the new owners when the new castle, or country home was built. The old castle was left as a 'garden feature' and is well worth a visit.
So lovely to see this! How many times did I pass by on our way down to the family caravan at Camber Sands? We never stopped to visit and seeing how lovely it is what a shame! A lovely peaceful scene with beautiful reflections! Fav!

Hard to imagine someone bringing down a castle but I guess restoration would be unreasonably expensive. What a gorgeous scene with the reflection.

It looks a lovely place to visit. I am sure this castle would make an excellent jigsaw subject.
