We will remember them

A very poignant display at nearby Blunham church this afternoon. The whole village had come together to share their stories of lost heroes and also those from the village who had survived. 4,000 knitted poppies were displayed throughout the church to create a very moving display. Blunham reached the semi-finals of the televised 'village of the year' competition earlier this year for their community spirit.
What a fascinating iand moving dea.

The American military does a missing man table. The table is set, but the cups are turned over. The plates have lemon and salt to represent bitter tears. Brings me to tears every time I see it and I see it often. This is even more poignant to me as an Army wife to see her waiting.

@homeschoolmom I didn't know that story, nor did I see the significance in this setting. Thanks for opening my eyes!
