This is a permanent memorial in the village of Little Paxton which commemorates the first world war. In the background is St. James' church which dates from the 12th century.
Good things today
1) remembering my dad today, his birthday would have been this week.
2) we had a small gathering in the street at 11am when one of our neighbours played the last post.
3) we met our lovely new neighours
4) a walk around the lake at the Paxton pits nature reserve
