We had the piano tuned today. It hasn't been tuned for years. It's a small modern-ish piano which my Dad bought me for about £20 many years ago. People were getting rid of their pianos back then! It sounds much better now although not yet up to pitch. I thought a picture of the inside might make an interesting picture for today. It was fascinating to watch and listen as the piano tuner worked.
A very windy day today but at least the washing dried.
A super view of all its mechanics ! Nice to still have a piano - my piano never left my parental home - it was a very solid and heavy piano and too big for my home ! - would love to tinkle on it now !!
I love a piano in a house. I can’t play but Harry used to have lessons. Our grandson Jack plays & he had a piano given him. I hope your piano gets played lots...the grandchildren might be keen hopefully.
Nice capture, can’t beat a piano, we had one when I was a girl although no one could play it!! Move on 55 years and hubby bought me a keyboard for my birthday late last year and we have both learnt to play, and read simple music,it’s not easy at our ages and can’t play much or well but we have definitely improved. I love being able to sit down and play a boogie Woogie with both hands!!
@craftymeg Thank you, yes I have a book of simple boogie woogie tunes which I love. It cost £60 to have the piano tuned and I was informed that it should be tuned every 6 months! I figure that at £120 per year I would be better to spend the money on a digital piano!
