We cycled to Aachen today, about 13km along a disused railway. The Germans are well set up for cyclists, with designated routes through the town and even our own traffic lights. This festival was a celebration of European unity and in support of Ukraine. A lovely atmosphere in the cathedral Square, with music, dance and food. We felt sad not be a part of Europe anymore but we picked up some European flags to give to the grandchildren.
@ludwigsdiana We don't have friends in Aachen but we are meeting up with friends in Marburg at the weekend. We have long standing connections with Germany, dating back to Peter's dad's time there just after the war
