Just captured this bee in my bathroom a few minutes ago. Using reverse macor is not easy, let me tell you! One foot on a chair the other on the counter top, camera in hand holding onto the lens so it makes a solid fit and doesn't let too much light through, I was off on a shoot!! 34 snaps later this is what I got!! If you have never tried reverse macro you should give it a shot,unless you are one on the lucky ones and have a macro lens, of course!!
@vickisfotos Just turn your lens around and hold it tight to the camera! Then you lean forward till it is in focus hold real still and snap-you have your photo!
Well done! I hate bees and wasps, so I would never attempt to get this close to one... let alone put myself in a vulnerable position (like you did), in case the little bugger decided he was going to fly away! I'd probably go screaming like a little girl into the other room! HAHA!!! Congrats on PP!!!
@cdonohoue Hi Cathy! Thanks for the nice comment. Reverse macro is for people like me that don't have a macro lens. You dust screw off your lens turn it around hold up up to your camera really tight and go in a close as you need to till your subject comes in to view. The hard part is holding the lens on tight so no light gets through. There is no adjusting the lens, you just go really close then back up a little if needed until your focus is clear and click...easy!! not.
@gareauk1 Thanks so much Kelly! I don't think that bee was going anywhere because he was so attracted to the light. Funny thing, when I heard him buzzing in my bathroom the first thing I thought of was camera!!!
@paulien Thanks,Pauline!!
@paulavdmerwe Thanks for looking Paula!
@sharonthompson Wow!! A FAV, I like those!!
