(4) Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Brownie with Whipped Cream
photo 735
I got two items for Christmas that complemented each other perfectly - the Gu Chocolate Cookbook and Food Photography: From Snapshots to Great Shots.
Almost immediately, I ordered a set of reflectors off Amazon - something I've been meaning to do for a while.
A group of friends and I went out for my birthday, and I made these brownies for a snack - straight from the book. Really easy recipe to follow, and the brownies came out good at the first attempt - always a good sign! Took 15 minutes to set up this shot while they were cooking (including setting my boyfriend down to whip the cream!). All natural light from the window on the left , with a silver reflector on the right.
First proper attempt at food photography, so comments and critique very much appreciated.
Thank you very much for the responses and the critique. am intending on working my way through the recipe book and the photography book, so look out for more of these!
And for those who are interested - yes, they were delicious, and if I could share them with you guys, I would :)
@espyetta I ordered a 5 in 1, 42 inch set of reflectors of Amazon. Surprisingly cheap at £16, but they've been mentioned in a couple of books I've read and they are quite effective - my boyfriend doesn't like having to hold them though!
