(4) Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Brownie with Whipped Cream

I got two items for Christmas that complemented each other perfectly - the Gu Chocolate Cookbook and Food Photography: From Snapshots to Great Shots.

Almost immediately, I ordered a set of reflectors off Amazon - something I've been meaning to do for a while.

A group of friends and I went out for my birthday, and I made these brownies for a snack - straight from the book. Really easy recipe to follow, and the brownies came out good at the first attempt - always a good sign! Took 15 minutes to set up this shot while they were cooking (including setting my boyfriend down to whip the cream!). All natural light from the window on the left , with a silver reflector on the right.

First proper attempt at food photography, so comments and critique very much appreciated.
Very lovely. Nice presentation.

I think this is great. The lighting is good, the Dof is spot on, the composition is interesting, and most importantly, I'd want to eat it!

Delicious and beautiful! Are the reflectors those big ones pros use for model shoots?

@espyetta I ordered a 5 in 1, 42 inch set of reflectors of Amazon. Surprisingly cheap at £16, but they've been mentioned in a couple of books I've read and they are quite effective - my boyfriend doesn't like having to hold them though!

These are the ones I bought if you are interested: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ex-Pro-Photographic-Light-Reflector-Collapsible/dp/B000RGRU3M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1358723830&sr=8-2

@cally thanks., I was not sure what people bought for indoor shots that were not fashion shoots and stuff. Thanks!
