The historic Seaton Springs Inn was built in the early 1880's near the Great Smoky Mountains. The carpenter who built the house was hung from the gallows on the courthouse lawn in 1899 for the murder of a young couple. I knew nothing of the history of this house when I was a child, for I spent many happy hours here playing in the house, on the lawn, in the creek, in the cantilever barn, for my grandparents lived here in the 1960's. The house wasn't nearly this grand when my grandparents lived here, and the pond did not exist. The current owners (it is now a private residence) have added a large addition to the rear of the house.. I hope that there are children living here now, making as many happy memories there as I did.
Duh, I know what happened now. When I just saw this shot I realized that I liked it along with the next one on FB but not here. Sorry 'bout that :-)
