This week's theme in 'Let's Do 52' is a choice of 'Unexpected Perspective' or 'Sparkle'.
It wasn't until I got home today, after taking Tara out to a cafe for lunch, that I discovered this week's theme for 'Let's Do 52' - and as it so happens, the photos I took whilst I was there (because of course I took my camera out to lunch too!) happened to fit the theme perfectly.
My l'il T was out of childcare today recovering from a head cold, I took the day off work to hang out with her. With junior panadol giving her a boost, she was getting a little stir-crazy in the house, so we headed down to one of my favourite funky cafes, Tilley's, found ourselves a booth seat in the corner and armed with toy cars, a selection of 'Little Miss' and 'Dr Seuss' books, and of course, Teddy, we shared a breakfast focaccia (well, she ate a little bit of cheese). For drinks, I had my usual skinny mocha and she was treated to a kiddie's vanilla milkshake. I even managed to flip through a magazine!
A couple of weeks ago I came across 'Embrace the Camera' (turning the camera on yourself once a week, 'embracing the camera' and capturing the moments you share with someone special) and have decided that each week, I will take a photo of Tara & I, just doing whatever Tara & I do. It was a happy coincidence that this week's photo also suited my weekly 'Let's Do 52' challenge :)

I love this and think it's a wonderful moment captured. I also really love the idea you said about a photo each week capturing a moment with you and Tara. I hope she's feeling better now.
@janmaki I knew if anyone would pick up on the table etchings it would be you and your eye for detail! It is true, this pic is quite dark - which is actually how the place looks inside. It is a rather interesting cafe - kind of an old style theatre/art deco feel to it - cabaret/music by evening, fabulous food & coffees by day (and generally filled with Uni students) - dark velvety red curtains, dark wood booths, @marydreams - and thanks for the fave too Mary :)
@geertje Thanks Geertje, it is quite a dark little place inside, but lovely by the windows in the booth seating - and yes, a lovely way to spend some time with my girl :)

@petra Thanks Petra! It is a funky little place, very mellow, and quite dark inside .... creates quite a nice calming atmosphere though - so it was lovely to hang out there for a while yesterday :)

@yoori Thanks Yoori! The cafe is quite dark and mellow, and yes, has that intimate feel in real life- which is why I really enjoyed hanging out with her there yesterday. I haven't been there since she was a little baby, because lately she just tends to run everywhere. Being a little under the weather has some advantages!!

It was lovely to hang out there with her there - a little lacking in energy at least meant we had some nice time sitting, reading and chatting ..... you know what little people with full energy are like!! She seems much better today - and has done what all little kidlets do and pass some sore throat germs on to me. Excellent timing with my husband O/S for work at the moment!
This has come out really well. A lot of your shots have unusual perspective anyway which is what makes them you. Beautiful shot and I hope Tara starts feeling better soon.
logve the perspecitve and the idea of capturing those precious 1 on 1 moments is brilliant!! sounds like a lovely time was head by all even with the cold...

@bobfoto Aaaah I see ... you like the light ... hope it isn't because it hides me more?! Tilleys Divine Cafe Gallery is a funky ol' place - quite dark inside - full of dark wooden booths (generally filled with Uni students)... and by night, live music and shows on its little cabaret style stage. I will take you there for a coffee next time you are in town! It opened in 1984, and get this, in its first few years, wouldn't allow men to come inside unless they were accompanied by a female!
