Volcán de la Corona by carmadilla

Volcán de la Corona

You hide behind your veil
Where it's safe, I know.
But really, you think about it
Just like I do.
The moment of eruption.
Do you long for it too?

I hear that distant song of yours
Like the cloud moving in
It bathes me
In blissful torture.
Remember the fire, spewing
And your skin, a river of molten lava?
Everything was alive.

One day it stopped.
The crust cooled and hardened
The vacancy of the crater echoed for miles, centuries.
Now we are moss-covered
Beaten by the winds of time.

Let us reminisce
And hear it one more time.
The pulse is faint but I feel it
Let me
Before it dissipates
into nothingness.
