The Church on the Hill

Everyone thinks Lincolnshire is flat, mostly it is, but Lincoln itself is in a bowl, with a geographical ridge running either side. I am stood on one side of the ridge & the cathedral is stood on the other.
We were actually visiting the new Bomber Command memorial, which had an open day today, but this view is too spectacular to miss ! On the left at the top can also be seen the castle & a Victorian water tower, which was built to bring a fresh water supply to the city which, at the time was beseiged by typhoid.
I've walked the hill in Lincoln. It takes it out of ya :) Beautiful view. Fav :)

Stunning shot across the city. let's hope the new 'transport hub' doesn't spoil this view. Fav

Beautiful urbanscape. The church definitely stands out. Looking at the sky the rain wasn't far away.
