Castle Square

Back here again today for a Spitfire & Hurricane fly past. For whatever reason the RAF turned up early today & just the Spitfire flew over, twenty minutes early & by the time we got out of the shop we were in, I missed it. We dutifully waited until ablout 20 minutes after the posted time, but nothing returned! A very disappointing performance by the BBMF today! So this is a capture of where we stood waiting!

After 24 years in the Army, with the RAF flying me to crap holes around the world, and frequently doing it late, that they couldn’t turn up on time today was not at all surprising. Like when I was serving, the lack of communication with regard time changes, certainly given the plethora of mediums by which to do it, was disappointing.

Nice view of the cathedral. The bbmf do have a habit of last minute changes of plan. I notice the NOTAMS this year give the expected time of display but then also give a wider window just in case there early or late!
