A Little Undulation by carole_sandford

A Little Undulation

After today I know why we take very few landscapes - Lincolnshire is pretty much devoid of them!!( well interesting ones anyway!) When we googled “Lincolnshire landscapes” most of them were taken in the “Wolds”, which are hills relatively near to us & there was a huge reliance on interesting Skies/clouds & light! We are currently five days into January, the light is pretty abysmal. Lincolnshire is flat, very flat!
This was one of the few shafts of light, taken along one of the Wold’s narrow but winding roads. There are some dramatic clouds & am quite happy with this one. I have quite a few “flat”, in more than one sense of the word, ones, that I could have used believe me!
Best on black.
Many thanks for all your recent comments & favs, always much appreciated!
I contacted my course leader to say I'm struggling with landscapes, flat, grey light and land. She suggested 'intimate landscapes' and lose the sky. Google it, my mind was blown

This is lovely Carole

@30pics4jackiesdiamond we struggle with landscapes, particularly around here, flat, grey & nothing for miles & miles. Will have a look at “ intimate landscapes”.

Looks like it goes on forever - quite interesting landscape.

A lovely meandering road making a very interesting shot. It must be very difficult when you live in a flat area. We’re lucky with an abundance of hills here in Kent and Sussex

This is a fabulous shot and definitely quite hilly for Lincolnshire. We’re actually going to Lincolnshire at the weekend, I’ll try and get some decent photos. Prepare to see familiar subjects as we’re spending Friday in Lincoln. I love Lincoln.

love the green

I like this one Carole. It has interesting light, the sky is moody and the road leads you through the landscape.

@jgpittenger haha! Well when you put it like that, I guess it’s not too shabby then!

@susiemc where snouts are satiating Sue, Phil & could perhaps meet you for a coffee? I am at work Fri afternoon though.

@carole_sandford That’s a lovely idea Carole but I don’t think we would be able make it happen on this occasion. The primary reason for our visit to Lincolnshire is a funeral on Thursday. We’ll be with some of Chris’ family on Thursday and Friday morning then we’re taking the opportunity to stay with friends in Gainsborough for the weekend. We hope we might manage to get to Lincoln on Friday afternoon but that’s not definite. Unfortunately we’re not in control, other people are. However, I’m sure we’ll go there again. Thank you for suggesting we meet, it would have been nice.

@susiemc no problem Sue, just thought I would suggest it, but completely understand.

I love the different textures and colours

You may think it's flat and unappealing on the whole but this is just the kind of landscape I love- with or without dramatic clouds and shafts of light! fav
