All Done

More of a diary entry for today. Didn’t have a shot as been at work all day. Most of our staff and residents have been vaccinated today. We have been given the Astra Zeneca vaccine (Oxford). Feel ok so far, just got a bit of a dead arm. They say side effects if you get any don’t usually last longer than 48 hours. Fingers crossed!
Lucky you. How long do you have to wait for the 2nd one?

My area is only giving it for 75+ years old currently - hoping my mom can get hers soon.

So glad to hear it. My area expanded to 65+, but when I called they were out of vaccine. Hopefully won’t be long now. Wish health for everyone.

My brother in law and sister in law had the pfizer vaccine ( they are both Paramedics) they quickly came down with Covid symptoms and had to go for tests. They were both negative but my sister in law is still off work as she's not well. Curiously she had the virus in the summer where as my brother in law never tested positive even though he had symptoms at the same time..

@rjb71 the doctor that was there today said, that if people were particularly allergic, they wouldn’t give the Pfizer vaccine. Otherwise I’ve not really heard anything negative about the Oxford vaccine. We shall see.

@carole_sandford my wife says she will only have the Oxford one I told her she doesn't get to chose!

@carole_sandford I am living in hope that the Oxford vaccine is okay for those of us who are a tad on the allergic side to a lot of things. Just heard of an elderly friend who is allergic to a lot of things, but had no reaction to the Oxford vaccine, so that gives me hope!
