St. Michael’s Mount by carole_sandford

St. Michael’s Mount

From a few days ago at St Michael’s Mount when the tide was coming in rather quickly. At low tide it is possible to walk across to the island. We didn’t expect the water to swirl behind us - wet feet ! You can see that about half of the path is submerged here.
Unusual photo.

I got brought up checking tide timetables before I do anything at the seaside (they are online now), so I don't get caught out. Great shot of this

I live by the sea and still get caught out. Rising tides can be sneaky.

A very descriptive scene… we know the tide comes in & cuts off the island but I’ve never seen it actually happen before! Very interesting.

We timed it perfectly didn’t we.

@phil_sandford ha ha! We would have done if it hadn’t been for the play acting tourists 😉

It brings to mind the sand bar at Fingal Spit here. People get stranded on the island because they don't realize that the tide creeps around the back and the front of them too. Some people try to go back and we have the occasional drownings.

Very cool capture. I am endlessly fascinated by these types of roads and pathways.

Interesting shot where you can clearly follow the path into the water.
