This is my husband,John's, Landrover Series 1 fire engine.It originally belonged to G.E.C. and was used in Portsmouth Dockyard.John has owned it for about 12 years,and he shows it at steam rallies and Landrover shows.At steam rallies it covers as an emergency vehicle in case of fire and also supplies water to steam engines,if needed.It has also been a help to Northamptonshire Fire Brigade.When we had flooding several years ago,it was used to pump out flooded stables,in advance of the Fire Brigade.
Lovely old vehicle with an interesting story to tell - and one that's not over by a long way, by the sound of it. It makes for a very cheerful and bright collage.
