Hep Hep Hooray by casablanca

Hep Hep Hooray

We have, with tongue firmly in cheek, been photographically documenting all the interesting medical things over the past few weeks and I said “of course, I don’t have a photo of you injecting your stomach!!” We drew the line there, but this was rather fun to take.

Another milestone, moving from one drug to the next. He has been injecting Heparin daily since his ski accident and surgery as a blood clot preventative and last night this was his final injection from the Austrian batch we brought home. Tonight he moves on to the tablet form.

3 weeks today we see the consultant again to see how the healing has gone in those multi-fractured bones. The teenager made a quip today about his Dad now missing some bones and I corrected him by saying they were all still in there and couldn’t resist misquoting the old Morecambe & Wise Andre Previn sketch:

“you have all the right bones, but not necessarily in the right order!”

If you have never seen this iconic piece of daftness, you can find it here: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xds7am
So glad to hear that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Such a stressful time for you and the family. Wishing a good and speedy healing process.

Brilliant sketch, I think it is one of the best sketches of Morecombe and Wise.

Hope all is going well and on track. Have you coughed up the gold watch yet?

Haha like that reply. Looks like the long way to recovery is getting shorter and shorter. Lovely shot and wishing you all the best.

We're familiar with the heparin name from several years ago when daughter had knee surgery and curiously developed pulmonary embolism afterwards. To cut a long story short she's now in Australia and spends regular time with a personal trainer and developing strength to get full mobility and fitness and doing really well. Hope all continues to go well for your husband and you!!
Loved the response and the brilliant M&W link. Laughed out loud!!!

Things are progressing - however slowly! Spring is on the way - however slowly as well. You have a wonderful future to look forward to!

you certainly look on the bright side of life, another song for you, but I cannot get it on 365

Heparin! We did that four times a day when Charlie had a pic line. I'm glad those days came to an end, and they will with you too.

Yikes! Not a fan of needles. It does work well against the black background. Nice focus to see the drop at the end of the needle.

Not keen on needles but I likethe take on the Previn quote.

My hubby faints at the sight of needles, funny thing though he didn't have any problem with giving me injections when I had to have them!

Great shot! After my knee operations I had to do this for a month, bl****** painful!

I only had to have a stomach injection once in NZ when they thought I had a thrombosis in my leg after a long flight.....it sounds terrifying but wasn’t as bad as I thought. Wouldn’t like to do it everyday thought....thank goodness it’s the last one! Brilliant photo of this instrument of medical injection!

Given many an injection of heparin! They tried to give me these when I was awaiting an op for a smashed up wrist. Didn’t really see the point as I was otherwise perfectly mobile!

Mmm given many injections of heparin over the years a cool image
