In a city full of rubbish public artwork this is a welcome highlight and brilliant tribute to Arnold Bennett. A very underrated writer maligned by the snobbish Bloomsbury set. If you want to read a novel by him try The Card. They made a film of it with Alec Guinness but the attempts at the Stokie accent are laughable. It is a lovely witty and comic novel. You do get a feel for the area (as it was).
This is beautifully detailed, down to the books on the ground...
