Love this photo. Has the feel of a painting. Like a more mysterious Maxfield Parish painting. My only gripe is I don't see three bridges. I only see one. I'll take your word for it that there are actually three bridges. But until I get over there to check it out, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. BTW- A fav for the mood and the composition. And for staying up so late at night for your art.

Thank you @mbrutus for your comment. I really appreciate your feeling of a painting because that's exactly what I like about this imsge. But the painter that I think of is Giorgio De Chirico who lived in Ferrara for some of his life. I don't think he painted the three bridges, though. And you should maintain your faith in my word because there is not a single point of view showing the three bridges. The local name for the building is Trepponti. You can trust the locals.

Pretty... great light and composition!

@kwind thank you. @mbrutus of course I'm not such a fool as to compare my poor photography to any art. I'm just trying to share with this link the atmosphere that GDC was capable of creating

@caterina I don't know if I can trust ALL the locals. But I do trust you. If you say this seemingly solitary bridge is part of a threesome, then I believe you. Because I personally know nothing of threesomes. In addition, I agree with your thoughts about Giorgio De Chirico. I was not familiar with his work before now. But, thanks to your thoughtfulness to include a link to his work, I am now. I see the influence of the heavy shadows and angularity in some of his work on that in many of your own. So many talented people have lived in Ferrara. Don't worry. You are but the latest. Now, to another and even more important matter. I would not insult you by calling your modesty false, because you may truly believe it. However, it is greatly misplaced. You are obviously not a fool. But neither would you be one for giving yourself a little more credit when it comes to your artistic talents at photography. Obviously, people here at 365 do not agree with your lowly assessment of yourself. Have you not just won a competitive contest? Is not one of you latest bridge photos on the popular page? As are many others? (All because enough people actually clicked on your stars ;-) And lastly, all of your photographs pass the eye test. Many are beautiful. Others quite haunting. You obviously have a passion and feeling for where you live, its history and its seasons. Your composition, choice of subjects, camera placement, photographic eye are uniformly excellent. So you can't fairly claim that you are not artistic. In fact, if you were to do so again, I would be forced to consider you a "fisher", one of those shameless souls who go about denigrating their own talents, in order to elicit a compliment from others. And I know that you don't wish to be thought of as a fisher. That is way lower than even a porcupine or a marshmallow. One of those is a prickly but loveable creature and the other a sweet, if mushy, confection.

@mbrutus thank you for your kind comments I am flattered and I promise I'll think about them. And thank you for not considering me a fish. Better a porcupine;-)
