I don't like the idea of needeing urgent medical care anywhere ;-)
However Venice has two big hospitals, one in the ancient center and one on the mainland. When my son was 4 he fell in a shipyard (where else) and was taken to the hospital because of a large wound on his leg. He was so excited by being on an ambulance boat with a siren that he was not even scared!
What an extraordinary place, would love to see it. Funny thing is that this shot brought to mind the 'floating villages' on Inle Lake in Myanmar, another place where everything's done by water.
This is just fascinating - never would have thought of that. Giggled about your comment on the early time of my shot showing the morning rays over the pier in Florida. Fortunately, I am an early riser always.
@tosee ah ah. Interesting! I have read all the books by Donna Leon who has lived in Venice for at least 20 years but who’s never given permission to translate them into Italian. Therefore the German series will never get here, I’m afraid. Is it in English?
@caterina It is in German with english sub titles. Got the DVD's from library 18 episodes. wonderful photography of Venice. I also have read her books. After the 3rd episode switched main actors and got even better.
