Alice was guiding us through the beautiful library that contains 20 000 books collected at the house of the poet Giacomo Leopardi, by Giacomo's father and left in 1810 to the citizens of Recanati. She has a degree in Literature and one in Art History, but she also has two children that occupy her a great deal. When I asked her if I could take a picture she was very kind and accepted without difficulties. We started to talk and discovered with great surprise that her mother's family name is the same as my husband's and that they originate from the same small town in Northern Italy. Perhaps she's a relative! Gifts of the 100 portraits project.
