These are some of the beautiful ski slopes in Cortina, Dolomites. The snow is wonderful, but the COVID19 has forced the early closure of almost all activities. The hashtag that we see everywhere these days is #iorestacasa that means I stay at home, the recommendation that comes from scientists and politicians alike.
At least in your country the politicians are wise enough to listen to the scientists occasionally. The only upside to the situation is that you seem to have the lovely mountainside all to yourself.
I have just been thinking that the shut down must be bringing about some uncommon photo opportunities for those who can go out and about without fear. Just like yours here. Thinking of you all in Italy. We are not far behind.
@helenhall yes it would be interesting to take pictures of the empty cities, but leaving the house is forbidden except for emergent needs. And here in the mountains we can go out without meeting a soul. We in Cortina are able to have groceries delivered to the house, but in big cities there is a waiting list of many days.
The empty ski run creates a longing in me -- a desire to go up there and ski down that beautiful slope. But alas, that is not to be. So glad you are able to be safe and to enjoy the solitude of mountains without too many people around.
