Mount Sorapis after sunset

Not much choice these days. In lockdown in our beloved village in the Dolomites, I can only take pictures of the mountains or of the trees, while the TV screams terrible news from all over the world. Stay home. Stay safe
What a view you have to enjoy--that's a saving grace. Feeling the same way here -- how many sunsets or skylines can I post? I love your view -- and the pink tones really make this pop.

It's a fine balance, the worry and the hope. Take care too!

Caterina, i's quite a view from where you live though. Watching the news is kind of addictive, despite it all being so sad !

I can assure you, that when we are not allowed to leave the house, there will be no such choice of view from where I live. Although I guess seeing all this from your window would make you want to be out there enjoying it even more. You are right though, the important thing is to stay in, and stay safe. And perhaps only watch a limited amount of the news - all of it is too much to bear.

I knew this was yours the moment I saw it. A most powerful image. Fav

Beautiful lighting and I would rather see this than people blaming each other instead of coming together.

If you have the ability to do it, it looks like it is time to clean your sensor. I recently had to do it for the first time, with a proper sensor cleaner it was easy and turned out great for me, but I was nervous and put it off for too long!

Too bad your have such ugly views! Wonderful colors. Agreed re the sensor

So good you have such wonderful landscapes to enjoy. I totally agree about the news, I've almost stopped reading it, just scan the headlines to see if there's anything new I actually need to know.

Great light and details.

What a fabulous view! Life is more peaceful if you turn off the news. Nature knows best. :)

Thank you for your suggestion regarding the sensor. I’m a little surprised and more than a little worried because the sensor of thi Fuji xt-30 is almost new In addition I ‘m not sure I would be able to clean it without damaging it. I guess I must wait until the end of this emergency. Will there be an end to this emergency?

Superb shot, with the blue hour tones. Do you change lens often? Maybe it’s then that dust gets to the sensor. If theFuji does not have a sensor stabilization, cleaning is relatively safe and easy by using one of the kits you can get on any web seller. If there is a sensor stabilization system, it’s another story, as touching the sensor could damage the mechanisms. And YES, this emergency MUST come to an end. If not because the virus will be defeated, because we will have invented some way to go around safely!

You might find that a chair, or glass or stone also make good subjects although it would be hard to beat this mountain.

@caterina from what I have read, mirrorless cameras have to get their sensors cleaned exponentially more than mirrorless ones did since there is nothing protecting the mirror from dust whenever you swap a lens. Maybe start with a software sensor cleaning (should be one described in user manual if it has one) and then consult what is best for your model.

As bad as things are, at least the current disease has a relatively low fatality rate. It could be much worse, and I and thankful for that.

The blues, the purples, they're so beautiful. What a view you have from the fortress of your home.

Thank you so much for the time taken to share a comment on my selfie with cello pic—very much appreciated.

@tosee thank you Tom, we are not allowed to go to the lake. We are supposed to stay within 200 meters from home. Which doesn’t make much sense here, where the mountains are vaste and empty. But I guess they couldn’t make different laws for different areas. My husband, however in the morning roam the woods behind the house and always comes back in excellent mood. @teriyakih

@teriyakih thank you for your suggestions. Indeed there is a cleaning function in the menu. I hope it will be enough. Regarding the virus, unfortunately, here doesn’t seem to have a low lethality rate. We already had almost 20000 deaths, a terrible number. Possibly because we have (had?) the oldest population in the world, together with Japan, and they were the more frail and the first to be killed. Another reason of this high lethality could be that all the infected people arrived at the same time, engulfing the hospitals, where the intensive care units were overwhelmed. That was before the DPI were in sufficient numbers to protect the health workers. As of today 109 doctors and 30 nurse have died of Covid 29! I can’t be grateful. Stay safe.

@caterina I hope you stay safe and things turn a corner for the better soon.

The beautiful colors make this already stunning view breathtaking. I can see what people are saying about the sensor on the upper left and along the top. I have been not listening to the news these last few weeks because it was making me too distressed and extremely emotional so I had not heard the numbers -- 109 doctors and 30 nurses? Oh that is a tragic loss to the country's future's health care. Each life is precious, and all these deaths are too much for all of us.

This is so beautiful. The pink along the top of the mountain absolutely glows. Thankful for the beauty around us during these dark, dark times. Your view is glorious and I know you are thankful for it.
