Chiesa della Salute by caterina

Chiesa della Salute

I know it's a little postcard-ish, but I couldn't resist to this beginning of sunset behind the Punta della Dogana (Point of the Customs?) and the Church of our Lady of Health. The church was dedicated by the Venicians to the Mother of God to implore the end of a terrible epidemics of plague that killed a large part of the population between 1630 and 1631. It is in the San Marco basin,at the beginning of the Grand Canal. Best on black
Postcards sell for a reason, they are usually great photos, as is this. I love the colours and the shimmering sea.
