Francois Portrait #37

Francois is the spokesman for Medecins sans Frontiers, an ONG that has been in Italy for 25 years. Their activity in the most difficult parts of the world is exceptionally generous and professionally sound. We heard stories of people from Lybia, Syria, Myanmar (the Roinga) and from the Mediterranean.
Lovely capture and I am full of admiration for those who go out and do something to improve the lot of the poor and downtrodden.

@helenhall @jokristina You are absolutely right. These people deserve admiration. I dreamed for many years of going with them or other ONG to help for a period of time, then life was so hectic and full of engagements, and now it's probably too late. However I'm happy to say that I have helped and encouraged several of my Paediatric residents to go. They have come back always full of enthusiasm and ready to leave again... Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Haiti, Perù. One of them has become a stable Staff of MSF and has even gone where the epidemics of Ebola was raging. She came back in good health! @phil_howcroft

@caterina wow! What do you mean by ‘being too old’ now? ‘Never say never again’! (007, I presume?😘)

What a gorgeous portrait! And yes, an organization that deserves applause for their generous and important work. Being retired offers the time to go and great expertise built over the years -- so why not?
